Oura Ring vs WHOOP vs Ultrahuman: 60-Day Comparison

We wore all three wearables simultaneously for 60 days: the Oura Ring Gen 3 (Heritage), WHOOP 4.0 strap, and Ultrahuman Ring AIR. Same wrist (WHOOP), same finger (Oura left ring, Ultrahuman right ring). Here is what the data actually showed, beyond the marketing claims.
Sleep Tracking Accuracy
We validated all three against a clinical polysomnography (PSG) session at Stanford Sleep Medicine Center and at-home EEG tracking via the Dreem 2 headband for 14 nights. The results were not what we expected.
Oura Ring Gen 3 correctly identified sleep stages (light, deep, REM) with 79% accuracy against PSG data. This aligns with de Zambotti et al. The auto-detection of exercise was reliable, catching 94% of workouts without manual logging.
Oura Ring is adequate for step counting and general activity but poor for workout tracking. It detected only 71% of strength training sessions automatically and has no real-time heart rate display during exercise. Ultrahuman Ring AIR fell between the two at 83% workout detection rate but lacks WHOOP's strain sophistication.
